Well, I'm thinking that even knock offs go for more than $1.50, so you did OK.

Other than resale value, is this the sort of thing were authenticity matters?

On principle, I would say yes.. the original point of logo merchandise is the implied value of the maker and in this case the quality of the silk, the vibrancy of the colors, etc... buying knock-offs, assuming they are of lower quality, is contrary to that as it became trendy to own logo merchandise of certain makers, a good number of people who couldn't afford much still bought an item, and I know several people who feel just a little special when they wear/carry/show a genuine [LV/Gucci/Prada/etc] article.. buying knock-offs doesn't get you that either I think this is different in some ways than homage or replica watches, where the face design is part of what made a purchase decision.. while I don't condone this industry either, I find it in theory more understandable I'm not off the soap-box if anyone else would like to use it sorry for the hijack I also couldn't judge either way on its authenticity

http://cgi.ebay.com/LOUIS-VUITTON-MU...QQcmdZViewItem

Please tell me your imput on if hes lying or if mine is really authentic.... thanks

It is fake. Please compare the script to a real one:

If you browse the eluxury.com, an online retailer operated by LV, you will see the scripts on their scarves are different from yours or the ebay one you linked.
