Updated: Brooks Brothers Shirt (#1) underarm seam to seam is 22". Sorry about not doing that before.

are you sure about that? my 16x36 BB slim fits are much closer to 23.5 to 24 in the underarm to underarm measurement.

I'm pretty sure. The shirt was buttoned, armpit to armpit, seam to seam, it was 22" on the line. The 34 might have a smaller chest.
