Just wanted to start a thread on this disastrous collab

WTF are they thinking???

I love this bit from the description:

"the legacy of the Harrington is in safe hands. "

uh, hardly...that chest logo they stuck on single handedly ruined an otherwise good jacket.

It should read:

"With a hidden internal zip, the new Ben Sherman Rectrum logo and symmetrical front button pockets, the legacy of the Harrington is in incompetent hands"...wtf is going on with that clusterfuck of geetar picks???

and the price is $50 more than a regular slimfit Baracuta G9

disastrous.

Yes, that logo is really ugly. It could probably have worked OK if it was about 1/10that size. And as far as the price goes I'd rather get the Baracuta one. I think if the Baracuta one was even $50 more than the BS one I'd shell out the money graciously.

Ben Sherman's embrace of larger, gaudier logos has been building for a while (the whole Lion thing was a major turn off for me), but this is ridiculous.

Didn't J slim down a traditional (pre-image makeover) Harrington by himself a couple of months ago and end up with a great looking jacket? I am not about to try and search for it but I am pretty sure that happened and that there is a WAYWT shot of it in SW&D. He probably did it for less than $250 also. A slimfit G-9 is not entirely out of the realm of DIY sensibilities.

I don't think the normal script logo looks bad, but the small badge logo is terrible. THere are a couple of tops at Ben Sherman I wouldn't mind owning, but that badge makes the thing look so generic. I wish they'd just leave out the logo.

Well maybe baracuta should be a little more picky about their brand and who they collaborate with. Is this really ben shermans fault?

Im sure they didnt pull this out in the last second as a suprise. Baracuta had to approve it.

Ben Sherman does a slim Harrington that just says "Ben Sherman" in script on the chest in the same color as the jacket. This is it:

i just recently bought a navy vintage lacoste harrington from ebay...pretty plain and simple with dark tartan lining and the green alligator...looks great in my opinion and there are tons on ebay still...

I'm looking at these right now. There are a lot of small and larges. I would probably need a vintage medium with a 39" chest and 18" shoulders? What size did you get?

There are few logos I find acceptable visible. LaCoste is one I actually like, the rest I can't stand.

The emblem on the OPs jacket looks alright if you just look at it up close, but as a whole when I was looking at the jacket I originally thought it was Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh.
