Knee Replacements

In about a month I am getting both of my knees replaced. Does anyone one have any recommendations or experience with knee replacements? also any ideas on what I should do to keep myself busy for the 6 weeks that I am laid up would be appreciated.

If I were you I'd take up whittling. Seriously.

My grandmother (now deceased) had both of her knees replaced at different times and both surgeries turned out pretty well.

I'd say video games, books, video games, books, pornography, the internets.

Maybe do some push ups to get your arms in shape if you're going to be wheeling around in a wheel chair?

Best of luck with that. My mother-in-law had both her knees replaced within the past year-and-a-half, although not at the same time.

Based on her experience, you will likely be doing daily rehab work, but be careful not to overdo as she did and developed scar tissue that then had to be re-broken down and reworked.

Overall it is definitely worth it as she is now completely recovered and back to being very active. She and my father-in-law are currently in Dubai and planning to go skiing in the indoor dome there before heading on an African safari.

I have no advice, but I just noticed your avatar is the same painting as my desktop background. Might be my favorite Ford.

Good luck with the surgery though.

One person who used to be my teach in elementary school and goes to church with me had that done. She said it wasnt too bad and most people heal early. What i would do if i was you is get a PS3, or Xbox and have some fun and take advantage of being able to sit on ur ass all day with an excuse

It's amazing what they can do these days with knee and hip replacements.

Thanks. He is my favorite contemporary artist, I have his print "dying words" in my office.

Thanks to everyone for the advice and well wishes. I am looking forward to having functional knees again, its been a few years. I hope that there is an internet connection in the rehab hospital; hanging out with the old folks might be pretty boring. I'm only 27, so my doctor is pretty optimistic about my recovery time.
