Uncontrollable Urination

Whoa. OK, so I was just in the bathroom standing over the toilet taking a piss, brushing my teeth and looking out the window at the eclipse. I'm not really paying attention so, as I'm finished peeing I start to button up and look down to realize I'm still urinating. There is absolutely no pressure, I can't feel anything but everything is still flowing. I stand there for about ten more seconds and it finally stops. I button up, flush the toilet and walk over to my sink to finish brushing my teeth. I look in the mirror and lo and behold, there's a wet spot on my boxer briefs where apparently I leaked some more. Oi. I dunno' if this is something I should be worried about or not, but I've never had a problem where I didn't know I was taking a piss so I thought I'd inquire. "Equipment" issues freak me out.

It sounds like the involuntary sphincter that controls the flow of urine from your bladder to your urethra is worn out. Get it replaced

How can you piss, watch the eclipse, and brush your teeth at the same time? You should be careful you don't mix those up somehow...

The important question here is can you still ejaculate? It just ain't the same if you can't shoot semen 5 feet across the room.

But seriously, I would get it checked out.

I wouldn't necessarily get it checked out because it happened once. Give it a few weeks and see if it happens again.

And a little personal here, but did you have sex beforehand? Sometimes after sex I've got a little trouble controlling my urine and also can't always tell if i'm actually urinating or not, but that's only after sex.

You might want to give a call to Stacy's mom.

I hear she's got it going on.

"It" being uncontrollable urination?

Seems like some other fluid was involved.

If Stacy's mom was in her nineties, it wouldn't be surprising. Maybe he'd be into that.

It certainly doesn't sound like a big deal to me, especially since it's an acute issue. Are you taking any medication, namely antihistamines, antidepressants, diuretics, etc? Even booze can cause this. Either your body was having trouble changing over from your sympathetic back to parasympathetic or you need to "work out" those bladder sphincter/muscle.

I'm glad you can use WebMD

Continuing to leak after "taking a leak" is pretty common in older guys. When I say older, I mean even older than me. My dad has that problem. Mom always has him wear dark pants so it isn't so obvious. One of the causes, in older guys, can be an enlarged prostate. It becomes increasingly common in guys after 50, but symptoms may not occur until much later. I am guessing that you are much younger than that. I don't think I would worry too much about a single episode, but I would consult you MD if it becomes a regular problem. You also might want to stop doing so much multi-tasking in the bathroom!
