That looks just about right. Supposed to have a V in oxfords.

Interesting.  I thought all balmoral style shoes were supposed to get pretty close to closing except for maybe a little opening at the top.  But that's just from reading some other threads on here, so I'm not sure.  There aren't any other fit pics of the Starrs on SF.

Well maybe I'll wear them like that for a while and see how I like em.  thanks

It's technically correct to have the laces close - they'll close perfectly on bespoke shoes. If you have a high instep, the laces will often form that " v " shape. Not a huge deal, and probably better than sizing up and dealing with loose shoes.

I might have the opposite problem of the previous poster. I just got my Millers in today, they're my first pair of dress shoes since joining SF.

Someone in this thread said the shoe fit TTS, Mr. Porter said one large I ended up sizing down half instead.

My thumb is on top of where my big toe is.700

wow that sucks

Many Paul Smith shoes are long...that's the style.  You don't want your toe going that much further than that or else your toes will begin to get squished as the shoe narrows...  I mean it looks slightly too long but only maybe by half a centimeter.

You just want to make sure that the ball of your foot falls into the right place in the shoe and that there isn't much heel slippage.   Looks fine to me considering the laces don't even close all the way.  If you went smaller you'd have a large V shape.

Mr Porter sizing advice is pure gibberish on some items. Like Paul Smith shoes.
For one color of Millers they say TTS and for another they say size down 1.
Plus Paul Smith translates their sizes between UK/US as 1 rather than 1/2 like many other brands leading to more confusion.
I'm not sure I follow, I generally wear a size 12 US but ended up ordering a 10.5 UK I'm sure there would be a considerable difference between the 10.5 and the 11.
For many/most English brands, a size 10.5UK will be their size 11US.
However for PS, a size 10.5UK is 11.5US.

I was just pointing out how confusing it can be trying to figure out PS shoe sizing.

Interesting. Those Corsos were the coolest boots I've even seen. Finally tracked down a pair only to learn they were crazy oversized. Tried to wear them anyway but eventually gave them to a friend. He has no idea what he's wearing. But, yeah, those look just as nice.

I must admit that I like Paul Smith shoes. :) I've sigaro brown corsos and ricards. Both were great purchases. Actually those ricards were my favorite shoes for a long time and lately I've been wearing corsos a lot

Columbia looks alright to me. I bet they're better looking in real life tho.

Yeah the pictures don't make them look anywhere near as nice as the Corsos....the leather looks thinner and I miss the eyelets, but they could be nice in person.  Still looking for Corsos in 7.5 UK or 8.  Were they oversized by half or full size for you do you think?  Maybe I should be looking for a UK 7...but I take a UK 8 in all the other Paul Smith shoes I have.

Maybe the sizing I reported was off for the Millers because I tried on the suede contrast sole Millers and the Mr Porter website says that the suede ones fit true to size and the leather ones are 1 size large.... hmmm  Will be interesting, because I just ordered a pair of the brown ones as well icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif
