is it safe to assume the ones made in india dont say made in italy...

Leather soled shoes should be stamped Handmade in Italy if they are, otherwise they should be labeled on the tongue or ankle.

Some of the PS shoes aren't bad. I've got one pair of PS by Paul Smith branded boots which are virtually identical to a mainline branded pair. The only real difference being leather color. They were both made in Italy with blake construction. I think the original retail prices were the same too.

I'll stick with the designers signature offerings. The same price, better looking.

Cool, glad to hear it worked out for you. I saw this on the product page "Unfortunately we are not able to ship this product outside of the United Kingdom.", but I guess they allow other European countries? They won't let you ship that to the U.S.

so i am curious what everyone thinks of this...

i am looking at the paul smith side zip glen boots and they cost $710, however when i log into the website i see the that in GB the shoes cost L370,
which when converted is 584.89. I decided to email the PS website asking what gives, i received no response and now anytime i visit the site i dont get to see the UK price. Am i the only one that thinks that this is really shady...

PS... these are the boots in case ppl don't know what im referring to

I was about to suggest you try ordering from the uk site.
I used to order from the uk site all the time. Prices were better plus they took off for vat.
EMAW11SHOE is supposed to give free worldwide shipping through the 23rd.
You'll get by FedEx customs fees though.

I haven't ordered from them since they unified us/uk sites though. I tried a fake order using my old uk account and it looked like it would still work.

With VAT added, it comes to about the same price and they likely want to keep prices roughly the same across the board so people don't abandon European stockists for online American ones

Ricard in Cordo

is there any place online that still has paul smith ricard in brown or cordo for sale? i've searched.

Ricards haven't been around in a couple of seasons and the Cordos were only FW09 as far as I know

kitakira is there another model/style similar to ricards? i'm looking for a slim sleek boot like them. i wear mostly slim pants/denim.

thanks

There are a few other lace up boots, but they're not as simple/clean as the Ricards. The Artur and the Bihar aren't too hard to find cheaply. The Cesar is a captoe boot for this season. The Sid is a nice plain toe boot, but it's also mid-calf with a shin guard on a commando sole. A nice boot, but I wouldn't fit it for the dressy role the Ricard can fill

There are sometimes a few Ricards that pop back up in B&S and the like, someone had a pair of brown 9.5UKs iirc

i was looking at the paul smith york do you think its a good alternative for a non laced version? i'm looking up the other ones you suggested right now.
