Any cool swimming shorts?

Guys,

Can anyone suggest where I can get cool swimming shorts? I want something knee length. I thought about buying ones from Holster or Acrombie, but I was also thinking lot of college dudes would be wearing the same shorts.

I've had a couple pairs of Patagonias and I really like them. A little expensive but they'll last.

I own a few pairs of Billabong and Quiksilver. Some of the stuff looks stupid and kind of ridiculous, but if you can find a pair with little or no branding, and just a solid or a plaid with no weird designs, they're greate pairs.

If they are knee length they can't be cool... they have to be short, on purpose.
That way, people can judge you from a far and it'll be fun.

+1 I got a pair of slightly patterened blue and white Quicksilver ones last year, comfortable and dry really fast.

I tend to do alot of my shopping at afflictionclothing.com however its fairly expensive. Also, i have about 3-4 bathing suits from oakly. I have found both sites to have very nice bathing suits as well as durable. Im a lifeguard and i use the bathing suits about 20 hours a week in the winter, and 50+ in the summer so yea . I just recently bought an ecko and timberland one so well see how those go.

My favorite two pairs are both square cut to about mid thigh. One is Dolce and Gabbana ( I was very much in to this label before I found SF) and is a blue and white check. The other is an orange RLPL suit. I have another from DSquared2 that is surprisingly not gaudy but I really need to be feeling confident to wear it and No! youre not getting pictures
I really can not wear board shorts for some reason. I find all of that extra material to be counter productive to my beach activities (none of which include surfing)

Despite not being able to swim, I do have a nice pair of Polo board shorts I got on clearance at Dillards for $10, though it's the wrong time of year for those kind of deals. They have a 10" inseam so hang just above the knee. I sling em low on my waist so they are actually right at the knee for me. Since they don't have the annoying mesh sack for your sac inside, I mainly use them for lazy everyday around the house type of use. They are comfy and have held up very well. I found a pic online of their youth version which esentially has the same pattern, though the colors are not nearly as horrendous: http://cgi.ebay.com/NWT-Polo-RALPH-L...QQcmdZViewItem

You can check the Polo website to see what they have. Most of their models tend to run short for your nedds but if you look around you're bound to find one or two that are longer. Or better yet, just look around eBay. I am sure you can find soemthing there.

+1... except I love to sport ridiculous, bright colored shorts from Facco, Villebrequin, and Gant.... the odd looks are priceless... plus you get to channel the French Riviera.
