Where do non-drinking singles go?

If you are a non-drinker (either a never was or gave up) where do you go to meet people and have fun? Do you feel akward when your buddies or date are drinking while you're stuck with water or a cola?

go to bars/clubs where you like the music and the girls are attractive. the most fun i've had at clubs has been when i went because i was interested in a particular dj or style of music they were playing that night. that's also when i tend to meet people.

The idea of meeting people without the social lubricant of alcohol seems rather frightening.

actually, depending on the neighborhood, those meetings can be a good pick-up place. i used to go to the ones in brentwood, though i had no desire to cease being an alcoholic.

I thought one of the reasons for the success of Starbucks and other coffee shops is it serves as the place for non-drinking people to go to.

Anything during daytime. I don't like getting drunk to meet people, but a beer or two certainly helps to put you in a talkative state, which is crucial to meeting people.

It takes me at least 5 drinks to be able to talk to someone I have had no previous contact with.

I always pictured you as the type who never touched a drop of alcohol. Glad to hear otherwise. Does the booze alleviate or aggravate the contempt I see you having for strangers?

I drink when the mood strikes me.

It usually does both remarkably.

Why wouldn't you go to a club? Being sober in a room full of drunks can be very entertaining. You also have the benefit of having full control of your own facilties and won't find yourself waking up with a coyote-ugly "date" in the morning.
