In the new gig, I'll be more generally supervising all investigations and litigation (from one step farther up the chain) and focusing more on policy and strategy. I'll miss being in court and having more hands-on control of the litigation (one reason I was ambivalent about applying), but will have more control over broader strategic initiatives, and my personal schedule will be less dependent on the deadlines and vicissitudes of day-to-day litigation -- which means, among other things, that I'll be more able to drop my daughter off at school and stuff like that because I won't have to worry about making an 8:30 court appearance somewhere. (And my daughter digs the fact that I'll have a bigger office.) Plus I can mark other folks down for rambling run-on sentences like that one.

Good luck with it, bro. Obviously, regardless of the outcome, it reflects well on what you've been doing.
