Also getting to watch the Knights (my team) play. God bless that funny old game we call rugby league that promotes the world's highest principles--peace through violence, harmony through brutality and getting everyone to shut-up and behave just like us or they'll cop a boot up the date and a fist of fives.

I always thought that even though you are technically correct, practically it was usually reserved for whites only? Just like "haole" could technically include more, it's usually reserved now for whites.

Either way, thanks for ruining my jest

No, it is commonly used for any non-Japanese...basically means "foreigner" and it has lost a lot of the derogatory tone it once had.

And...sorry to be the killjoy for the jest. To make it up to you...I just posted a pork belly pic to the "what did you eat" thread with you in mind.

Looks great too.

I was visiting the Chef who shall be doing a big time Napa vintner's dinner for us next week. He has a pork belly dish on the menu Peppered pork belly, braised rabbit, chanterelle ragout.

I did. But when one of the top 10 restaurants in the world calls you about an interview, you go! Thanks for the luck guys. I haven't heard back yet, which is to be expected. He told me it would be a few days before he knew for sure and they are closed Monday and Tuesday. Still, I am nervous as hell. I have wanted to work at this place since before they even opened. Stressing hardcore right now, even though I know that there's nothing I can really do either way.

Good luck! Of course at some point we'll have to know which restaurant. Hopefully you'll post great news, soon.

Wow. Good luck Kyle. Looks like I may be heading up to Chicago for a few days in Feb. Hopefully it will include a stop off at a top-10 restaurant.
