You mean like Canadians and shit, or are you talking about people who think they are real "Americans" just because they passed some test and mouthed some words in front of a judge?

Trust me when I say the average Canadian would cut off his/her left hand before identifying in any way as 'Murican.

I mean everybody who lives on a continent with America in the name who isn't of the United States variety.

I worked for a company that was listed on a US and Canadian exchange.  The stock pretty much always moved the same (otherwise there would be that sweet arbitrage).

What about Americans claiming to be Canadian?

Canadians love the assumed superiority. "We never had slavery" "We don't have the gun violence" "We don't start wars" blah blah. But it actually just stems from an inferiority complex. The world doesn't watch our elections with rapt interest. We don't lead military interventions because the Toronto police force has more guys than the regular army. No need for nukes through all the decades of the cold war if you sit right snug and cozy against a superpower on the same continent. That you'd spend or risk nada and enjoy all the above benefits then be a moralistic little whiner nitpicking away is - I think - the hypocritical thing Pio was referencing.

Whenever a Canadian starts with the America-bashing in convo with me I always go "yes, yet they typically run an unemployment of 4% to our 6% and have a much higher productivity rate. We're much more advanced with our 'milk board' so families pay 4x the cost they do. I'm so glad I live in a country where doctors are forced to work solely for the govt and dangerous concepts like 'Chang's Liquor Emporium' are outlawed for our safety" etc etc

Usually draws an irritated blank stare. Lol

That wasn't a blank stare, it was my medical marijuana kicking in and the irritation was from having to yet again defend the Milk Board, the Wheat Board, and the other Boards of Canada.

Just for the record there actually was slavery in Canada, legally until the 1830s, and some folks would maintain it still happens today on a regular basis.
