Time to visit a public house and wait for a fellow to exhibit sadness upon having been rejected by someone he had accosted as a potential paramour. You can console this fellow but then after he leaves celebrate your good fortune with a glass of Byrrh. This is how you become the Mathis of erotic relations.

A firefighter/EMT friend of mine once told me to beware of the titanium ring: apparently if you have an allergic reaction, snakebite, or for some other reason your hand swells up and they have to try to cut the ring off, you could wind up with one less finger. Gold and silver are easy to cut off. Titanium? Not so much.

Well, MrG has (I assume) ten fingers, so for him at least a titanium ring problem would be unfortunate but not insurmountable.

Ring degloving is a terrifying thing.

They have started making silicone rings for people who need to keep their hands safe but refuse to go ringless.

They seem to break into 2 campus based marketing. One set goes after manly men showing people using tools and heavy equipment with gritty hands. The other type markets towards outdoors people, particularly sports that use rope like climbing and sailing.

I jumped off a piece of lift equipment once and caught my ring. It hung my whole body weight for a minute or so until

someone realized what had happened . They had to cut that ring off.I got a pretty bad sprain but thats all. Another time I shorted a ring across two electrical poles on a small engine .That was a pretty bad burn and they had to cut that one off too. I quit wearing rings after that

Agreed. Now he's going to have to google something warm and fuzzy like the Humbler just to balance out his psyche.
