Back is improving and I think I might be walking fully upright for tonight's festivities. smile.gif

Still, sort of hanging around the house today when I wanted to be out hiking. frown.gif

I adopted the second cat today. This one is Diderik. The poor guy had been treated so badly at a previous shelter. Also, he's had almost all of his teeth extracted because he had a really aggressive version of stomatitis. He'd been at the veterinary hospital for quite a while, so I wasn't able to bring him home until today. Despite all he's been through, he's the sweetest cat you could imagine.

I've got some good Raleigh food recommendations if you're interested.

Yes please. We're going to stay in Raleigh near Downtown for two nights and then heading to the outer banks for one night.

Looking for good BBQ joints and good nightlife options.

Or actually, where do you recommend for staying near Raleigh? We haven't booked hotels yet, though we're looking at AirBnBs. Is Downtown good? Midtown? We want to avoid having to drive as much as possible, though we'll Uber if necessary.

Babylon is a great restaurant/nightlife spot. The owner originally opened Mosaic Wine Bar, my favorite haunt when I lived there. Any of the Ashely Christensen restaurants are great, though I can recommend Poole's Diner, Beasley's Chicken and Honey, and Fox Liquor Bar from experience. Death & Taxes and Bridge Club are also well regarded, though I haven't been yet. Downtown night life is Glenwood Avenue (south Glenwood for more club atmosphere) or Fayetteville Street. Please note that I'm well into my 30s, so my best partying days are behind me, and my perspective on Raleigh's nightlife may be out of date.

I'm immediately taken aback by how affordable the prices are, relatively speaking.
