Firsts quality has been questionable lately.  I've only been to the Brookfield store a couple of times.  The most help I've received is from the SA named Michael.  Actually I have to stop by because AE (not happy) messed up a recraft and put the wrong sole on some shoes.

Style is one thing, but in terms of materials, construction, and attention to detail, AEs are hard to knock from a value perspective if you're getting them at a steep discount.

I would never pay full retail. That said, their CS is superb.

So are Hondas and Toyotas but Pio drives a Nazi sled.

VW are Hitlermobiles not MB.  MB was around long before the Nazis, and VW even used a Nazi emblem for awhile.

I mean...AEs, which retail for a multiple of what normal people spend on shoes, are not Hondas. Rockports and Eccos might be Hondas? I dunno what kind of shoes normal people wear...Stacy Adams?

I mean...ever since the SF member with Aldens left, I don't think I have seen anyone wearing shoes that retail for more than AE...maybe like one guy who has prada/gucci loafers?

As Otto said AEs are way, way above the average shoe so no comparison to Honda or Toyota. I'm not happy with the latest gen but thankfully I've a dozen old school shoes in service. For me they are the most I want to spend on a shoe that will undergo daily use. I have some other, more expensive shoes for going out, but feel no need to name drop just to impress an impetus person like Ethan. I also wear AE patent leathers with my MTM tux. Oh no...MTM for my tux? frown.gif

Exchanges like this remind me why I never actually talk about clothes or shoes on StyFo. There's always going to be someone online who thinks you're a peasant/have execrable taste.

Guys, if you're not wearing bespoke Lobbs or Edward Greene (or whatever the SF group think of the year is), you're a rube unworthy of saving.

Also, Pio, this is SF, it is called a dinner jacket.  FFS.  How can an all-time high poster, such as yourself, still be getting it wrong?  Next you'll be buying comfortable but ugly chairs.

That would have worked but autocorrect apparently didn't get my "impetuous" correct.

The grandpa received hell of support from the Internet after all his grandchildren except one failed to show up for hamburgers. Lot of times the Internet does bad acts but this time it did good act make the grandpa feel better.

The Internet would support you like it did for the grandpa whose grandkids didn't show up for hamburgers.

I missed that one. How strange that a story like that would wind up on the internet. It's almost like the grandpa was a total attention hor or something.
