And full circle for the day...back in my chair, window open, cats Zen. Relaxing with a little relaxing stuff and life is okay right now.

I just bought a copy of my own book on eBay. It was $3.95. What a bargain! I mean, not considering that I spent ten of the best years of my life writing it. Which was not a good bargain.

Oh. This is the "happy" thread.

I need a drink.

Was it used at least?

Pssh. I can get a copy of to kill a mockinbird for like 50 cents. Still a pretty good book!

Sign a bunch with crazy obscure inscriptions and donate em into the wild: "to the only man I ever loved", "for a good time call..." etc

I recommended a book to a friend and when they went on Amazon a used copy was like $45. I bought it for maybe $4.50. Is it a collector's item now?

Marked as "very good" condition. I hope it's full of marginalia like "bullshit" and "stupid."

1. This week's forecast (for dat driving pleasure)

2. Cinnamon-raisin swirl bread, toasted to golden brown perlfection, with a healthy knob of butter slathered on top (dat salty & sweet combilnation)

Just found out that I won a teaching award at my Universelty of which comes with cash prize. I'm honestly surprised that I won. I consistently get very good evaluations from students, but my teaching style is definitely old-fashioned, whereas these awards committees tend to favor "innovative pedagogy" and suchlike.

That's not butter that's slathered on top of that knob you're about to gobble

Isn't all teaching pedagogy?

i'm sure the qualifying adjective is at issue here: "innovative pedagogy", "traditional pedagogy" etc.
