Have to somewhat agree with GF here in that cooking brown rice is somewhat lengthy.  Granted I have 3 little ones and a shortcut here and there helps.  A healthier shortcut that tastes good gets extra points in my book.  We'll see.

TJ's business plan is largely based on selling to high income singles and DINK.

I dunno...the only people I have ever seen buy and eat frozen rice were asians in college.

And that was just plain white rice. I'm not even sure I would have known that such a thing existed otherwise.

Put rice in rice cooker, start cooking rest of meal, take rice out when done.

I'm mexi-asian and don't have a rice cooker. I do it old school and just boil it in a pot - takes 15-20min. Rice cookers are a bitch to clean and are surprisingly messy. Boiling rice in a non stick sauce pan is super neat/easy clean up.

I did have Korean friends that pressure cooked rice though, you can get a large batch of Jasmine rice done in 2min with a pressure cooker, brown rice is 5-10min. Pressure cooking rice is a great idea when you have a larger family.

I just don't want to deal with the cleanup.

Toss the bag of rice in the microwave for three minutes and dump on plate. Done.

That it has much better texture and chew to it than how I cook it on the stove is another major plus.

I'm willing to pay $1 for all that.

Filled out the official application to adopt kitty today. It is a special needs cat and he has an unfriendly appearance to him, to where I worry that no one will want him. That's why I want to make sure to adopt him.

Also, greger, purely for entertainment.

I am assured that his personality does not match his appearance.

Yesterday I was sitting in a cave at Petra recovering from walking up a mountain staircase. Along comes a super cute cat and she lays in my lap. It was pretty great.

Can we crowdsource a name for Linc's new cat on one of these threads?
