I recently read that the popular new thing in the chilisphere is Decatur-style chili, in which the chilimaker includes a heaping spoonful of quality peanut butter in the chilimaking process. Apparently it's recognized among chili cognoscenti as blowing Cincinnati-style chili out of the dang water.

So what you're saying is, it's greater in Decatur?

So they say. I don't count myself among the chili elite so I don't think I can comment with any level of authority.

If Tom Ford were to introduce Tobacco Chocolat (it's been several years of dat Tobacco Vanille), do you think that trunk show would be different?

Only thing I know as fact is that I personally, speaking for myself alone and for no one else (even alien lifeforms that may or may not be discovered in future time), put chocolate sprinkles on to mine own chili what I make at home.

I feel that certain posters have gone into dissociative fugue state forget that I have explained this point so many times that certain keys on my computer keyboard are suffering from wear and tear.

EDIT: I recently mentioned Cincinnati in a post in Scent/Fragrance of the Day. There was a trunk show for the Tom Ford Private Blends (in 2008 maybe?) and I was there in attendance. When I first arrived I was mistaken for a VIP from Tom Ford company even though I was no such thing just a reglar man want to smell the new Tom Ford Private Blend perfumes. I can report that no one tried to sprinkle chocolate in to the perfumes, least not while I was there.

If the trunk show were to happen in Cincinnati, where they got love for chocolate aforethought, there might be a stampede.

The two terms that come to mind when I think "Decatur" are "OG kush" and "kief," definitely.

Wife had a rough day. Went hard on dinner tonight.

London broil, roasted asparagus and broccolini, Hollandaise sauce (never made it before), and buttermilk mashed potatoes.

The part that makes me most happy is that I said dinner would be ready at 9:30, and it was actually ready at 9:30. I am usually at least 0:45-1:00 behind schedule if I attempt a meal like this.

Bonus pic of homemade pretzel buns from last night:

Gotta get better at slashing.

Your wife's purple hair is inspiring culinary successes, exactly as predicted.

You eat dinner at 9:30?  Damn.  I'd have died of starvation by then.

Dat dinner puts mine to shame (11 strips of thick cut, uncured bacon, srs).

I'd punch a baby for some bacon right now.

What is uncured bacon? I ask as it's just meat if it's not cured.

Whole Foods-style doublespeak.

Uncured bacon is cured. It is just cured using something besides direct application of sodium nitrate/nitrite...usually celery juice or some other "natural" source of the same chemicals.

Ironically, I believe such bacon can actually have *higher* nitrate levels since the natural sources are inconsistent and manufacturers may use them more heavily to ensure safe curing. With Instacure #2, you just measure out the right amount and you're set...but who knows how much sodium nitrate is in this particular stalk of celery.
