I remember paying like 75% over amazon pricing for those fucking kyroptonite locks facepalm.giflol8[1].gif

anyway like total newbs the wife and I literally bought the bikes and all our shit and asked for NYC bike maps and opened them wide and made our way back to brooklyn from soho. it was only a 30min ride but my ass and legs hurt going over the williamsburg bridge, and the wife rode on the sidewalk bigstar[1].gif when we got to metropolitan street to avoid buses/out of fear.

it only took a week of riding to get over the fear though... later that month we rode all the way to fucking Coney Island . And were making Govenors Island and Manhattan runs almost every weekend.

if i can't get there on a beach cruiser i'm not going.

i used to live in Huntington Beach (that's CA for you suckers) and we'd go from pier to pier to pier down through the balboa peninsula to get some breakfast burritos, espresso, and birdwatching in. great Saturday commute.

Grr found out my car was towed because it was on a "snow Emergency" route. $200 to get it out of impound, $250 ticket to pay within 30 days (or it doubles). I drive it maybe once a week so it didn't cross my mind to move it Thursday night before it started snowing (also because I rarely park on the street that is the snow emergency route). A quick web search indicates DC has towed 500+ cars for the very same reason. Not mad at them per se, more annoyed at the pointless expenditure

Cross post to say that on the brighter side, I'll be in Vegas in less than a week.

I ride a fixie sometimes.

Good winter bike... Fewer parts to worry about, and I feel a little more in control in bad conditions.

I think the Brewers need to bring back the ball and glove as their primary logo, and not just for Sundays. Their current logo--and their uniform set generally--are among the worst in Major League Baseball. If they want to keep navy as a primary color, I guess that's okay. But must needs have dat ball and glove.

My goodness I agree with you 100% L'Inc. This is an historic day. biggrin.gif

Let me add this point to the discussion at hand, see if Kid Nickels' agreement persists: I am disappointed that the Brewers have relegated their gold alternates to the dustbin of history so to speak (won't be wearing them anymore). Those were nice looking jerseys no two ways about it.

Did you have a choice between comp time and $? My cheap-ass company always just wants to throw us comp time. I tell my boss to shove it. To me that's an insult.
