I was thinking today, who's the last great country and western superstar we've seen here in America? I'm not sure if you guys will agree with me, but I concluded that it was Travis Tritt. That song about giving the person a quarter so that she could use a pay phone and call someone who cared about her point of view is a true classic. The narrator of the song is dismissing the woman's concerns, which is a common enough occurrence in real life, but he does so in a clever way that brings a smile to the face of anyone who listens attentively to the lyrics.
