Exactly two weeks of college left (well, not technically, but my final quarter will be spent doing an internship). I'm pretty excited to get my career started.

Remind me what career a BA in history, from a...moderately ranked...university gets you again?

Most likely, a job in politics.

Our combined powers can probably put you in prison

MrsG and I spent the day yesterday looking at a bunch of houses. We'd been looking online and getting ideas on what we wanted, but this was the first time we went out with an agent. In just our first day of looking we found two that are almost exactly what we want. Even if these don't work out, it's good to know there are probably going to be options out there.

Also, I'm pretty sure I'm on the tail end of my dry socket ordeal, and I'm feeling close to normal again.

Glad those wisdom teeth are resolving for you.

Sockets are so annoying. Make sure you flush them with a syringe.

Lots of good news. Phew! about those sockets.

Thanks, I am too. It has really been brutal. It doesn't seem like something that could be such a problem, but it's awful. I've heard women with children compare the pain of dry socket to the pain of child birth on more than one occasion.

They are. After the first few days of real agony it started to let up, but it's been this almost constant ache ever since. It's like having an eight-day-long headache. I've been keeping them very clean - I don't want any more problems. I really just want to be done with it.

Indeed. This will be our first home (hello $8k!), so it's really exciting.

I hope by this time next week the sockets will just be a memory (I'm told to takes a couple of weeks to fully get over it), but, relative to most of last week, I'm in pretty good shape.

Our office is surprising an employee with a big promotion tomorrow. He's a Somalian refugee whose parents and sister were killed in the Somalian Civil War in the late 90's when he was still pretty young. He's been living with another worker for free because he had so little money. He's a really hard worker and it will be a fun day to watch somebody like him be rewarded as he'll be able to afford a much more enjoyable standard of living. Cake will be involved too.

^^^Sounds like it will be a nice occasion. Congrats to the unsuspecting employee.

I finally got back on the bike trail 9 weeks after the accident.
