Saw BB King tonight. What a goddamn treat. Can't imagine there is an 88 year old man out there having a better time than BB. Some asshole was going on about how he's old, talks too much, doesn't play enough, etc., after the show. Let's see you tour the USA at 88 and bring the house down with a Sweet Sixteen/How Blue Can You Get medley. Oh that's right...no can do!
Happy to say I can check this off the bucketlist.
The quintessential performance of "How Blue Can You Get," from Farm Aid 1985. Note that BB's break a string and he re-strings the guitar without missing a beat.
I read the new Paul Stanley autobiography last night. There are a couple of very funny Ace Frehley stories.
1. He never used to help move the equipment from the truck to the venue in the early days. One day when everyone else was doing the work, Ace pulled down his pants and said "This is my dick when it is not hard."
2. He used to eat with his mouth open. He said it was necessary to aerate the food.
3. One day Ace was crawling around in the hallway of the hotel. He told Paul it was because he was with a bunch of tiny invisible friends and that Paul was stepping on them.
