I'm really pleased with how well DC came through this. DDOT got the roads cleared, Metro kept the info coming out and prudently shut down when necessarily, and things are already up and running again.

On the other hand, the number of people driving out in the shit this weekend still amazes me. And the people complaining need to shut up.

+1. I was expecting things to be thoroughly fucked through the whole week, I was surprised at how relatively painless my drive home from work last night was.

I was supposed to be in Maryland today representing a client at grand jury proceedings, but the grand jury was cancelled, so for now, I can stay out of that fuckhole.

P,

not to get into your business - but you work full time, as well, right? does your contract (with your employer) allow you to do consulting on the side, or did you have to negotiate that for this contract?

just curious, as it is asituaiton that I have faced myself.

in any event, congrats

Thanks on the congrats. What I have is a clause that says I can take on non-material (in terms of compensation) short term consulting that does not interfere with my duties nor cause a conflict of interest. It also specifically leaves me free to take on "teaching" assignments. Wouldn't you know it, this tasty little morsel falls under "teaching"

You having any http upload issues? I've been doing some Net searches and it seems to be rampant. Much has been said that it's because Win 7 goes at maximum upload speed. Netlimiter is not compatible with Win 7, so can't use it.

^^ don't understand why i'd have http upload issues. http is a protocol you typically download with. I did have a problem with web browsing when i first installed it, if that's what you mean. I could ping websites but i couldn't browse them.

Unbelievable date yesterday with a slightly crazy lawyer which I am unable as a gentleman to disclose any of the amazing details of. Got a date tomorrow night with a gorgeous flight attendant who is hot for my bod. Life is good boys. Life is good. EDIT: Also went out with the flight attendant Saturday night. Very, very nice.
