things that are making you happy - Page 2758

^I think its the variety of hot women you get to see on the L train that makes the difference. Nowadays I see a ton of pretty co-eds daily, but its mostly just regular pretty white girls in the 18-26yo zone.

but back in brooklyn I'd see some cute hipsterchick and think.. wow she's cute, then some really hot indian woman would get on the train and I'd think: damn... who's she...? whats her story?

plus you actually have a good opportunity to get to know these hot women because anyone within a 2mile radius is a "neighbor". even as a married dude I was saying hi to all my pretty neighbors and having conversations with them on the street/standing in line for food or coffee/ect (it really helped having cute dogs though).

Even just taking a stroll at lunchtime, it is actually insane how hot the majority of women are here in New York. Maybe I have low standards or something. Also, there is something inherently more attractive about a woman in the city vs. the burbs. It takes a little something to live here and I think just that knowledge makes me respect them and see something else in them. Also, just the habitat, walking around, sitting on a train, there's more mystery to them and you get to spend more time around them as they approach and then walk away. I have always thought that in the burbs there was a buffer to all of this interpersonal mystery. There is something inherently nerdy about driving, and parking and getting in and out of cars. I feel like all human interactions are very limited and fleeting.

The suburbs are where tired people go to stop being people.

I couldn't get over the sheer number of attractive women in the city. I have never been anywhere with a higher attractive per capita ratio.

I'm ready for the suburbs. I want a house where I can listen to jazz on Saturday mornings while I make my eggs and toast and read the paper.

People tell me baseball is boring and one of my stock responses is not as boring as jazz!

listening to jazz for 3 hours is WAY more entertaining than any baseball game.

And you can't do this in the city? confused.gif Also, you pretty much do live in the suburbs.

I truly enjoyed the series finale of How I Met Your Mother (not really the rest of the season, but that was never supposed to happen).

I'm with the NYT reviewer on it being a beautiful execution of a red herring.

I don't get the scathing hate that some jezebel writer had for it...

I can, but then I run the risk of pissing off neighbors.

I have today set aside for trying to thrift a mid grey suit. Since I went find the thing I want, I'm looking forward to discovering whatever it is I'll find instead, that I don't yet know I can't live without.

After Dexter's horrendous series final, both Psych's and HIMYM's were pretty great.

I discovered a song that I love from the era of L.A. Guns when Jizzy Pearl was singing. (Usually I only go in for the Phil Lewis material.)

I have only had a neighbor complain about my noise once and that was midnight on a weeknight when I was playing my guitar super loud. Plus, if you are in the city you're with the cool kids, who appreciate jazz.
