+1. The last time I was there I found this place downtown, basically a rundown food court (in fact, it was a rundown food court) and there were some bomb-ass shit for like $2.

When I think "Mexican food" I tend to think more along the lines of really tender pork carnitas, fresh ceviche, or something simmered in a really good mole negro sauce...and hand tossed tortillas made fresh.

Also, Detroit has some fine Mexican food, believe it or not.

I presume you and your baseball bat have booked your tickets to the Vatican already.

omg ... tryouts have already started??

The ironic meal for me in Rio was at their most famous Brazilian Steak/Grill place. The food was great, but it was over $300 for just my wife and I (and we didn't even drink), and was chuckling at the times I've been hoodwinked by friends to eat at the Brazilian Grill in hells kitchen and had the same "why did I just do that to myself?" feeling.

SP as rio are two different animals a bit like NY and LA/Miami.

SP has a strong pizza culture and its a weekly thing, a bit like Sunday roast etc., don't think it's the same in rio as pizza = carbs and tat is not good for the beach body.

Haven't been to one of their steak houses, but I have to try it at one point.

I too have always felt the best way to deter horrific acts of violence is with the sound application of a baseball bat to the cranium.

meh ... It was an analogy.

Things that are making me happy ...

Finding a hardware store that has a huge bulk cache of road salt for sale because after they took delivery of the dump-truck load their front end loader broke down, soes they couldn't easily load it into the truck beds of commercial customers ... and now they are selling it for $6.50 for a 5 gallon bucket if you bring your own bucket.

This is true, however the number of good pizza places is dwarfed by those that think mayonnaise, and sweet corn are essential pizza ingredients.

dude so true. korea is all about corn, sweet potatoes, mayonnaise, and spam on pizza
