make sure you know what its going to be like, and good luck!
Another thing making me happy:
I've been at this job for about 8 months and one of my coworkers always asks me to do the little things that are not my job. Technically they could be, but they're not. Out of 13 other employees, he's the only one that ever asks me to do the reports. They're supposed to take turns and when it comes to his turn, he asks me. It's a report that takes 10 minutes to make and needs to be made twice a week. That's just one of the things. I think he thinks he can get away with it because I'm the youngest and newest by at least 15 years.
He got me on messenger today and here's the gist of our conversation, him in bold. I'm in Italics.
Hey we need the ********* report
Ok. I'm in the middle of a project right now.
Ok well when you have time.
Can you do it?
It's your job, falls under your job title
Actually it could be argued that it's not and that you just don't want to do it.
Let's ask **** (my manager)
Ok. I'll send him an email as well, we can take our kindergarten level issue to him and see what he says. Why is it that nobody else asks me to do the reports, just you?
It's your job.
I sent my manager an email explaining the entire situation and how, if he wants, I can do the reports all the time, but I thought he wanted me devoted to one project and not interrupted by other things. I also apologized for bringing him such a trivial issue, but it's gotten on my nerves so bad. I never got a response back but the jerk coworker just came up and said, "Why didn't you tell me he said he wanted you on other projects?" (two inches from my face, smelling like cigarettes) "I didn't think it mattered, since it's really just you being lazy. Even ****** does his own reports." (The laziest person I've ever met, and he hates) "Whatever man."
Well that's that. I felt better. And I feel like I work with children, three times my age.
