I also had my graduate interview at the only grad school I am applying to (small field, this is the only school that has what I am after), and that went better than expected. The director of admissions was very personable and seemed pleasantly surprised of my experience within the industry (which I would say is a rarity for someone 22). They take on 40 students a year--let's hope I'm one for 2014. The program is three years long, and I would be on campus 0700-2200 M-F.
This all sounds wonderful. Congrats on the cycling, and Good Luck on the grad school acceptance.

Speaking of conferences, my presentation went outstandingly well this morning. Now I'm relaxing on the beach working on my tan. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Is the sushi an entree, or is there another term that better describes the role it will play in your dining experience?

I have had so much port that I am not even sure if the particles of my body are still functioning in the ways described by science.

Had a nice weekend in the Adirondacks. My mom's entire family was there, including the cousins from Italy. It was nice to get everyone together, and matriarch Grandma was definitely pleased.

Also, I love seeing the Hudson up in the mountains. It's literally 3 feet deep the entire way across, which is clearly not far at all.

I am not an A's fan, but those gorgeous striped stirrups with the yellow sanitaries certainly make me happy. They wore those this weekend.

^stirrups and sanitaries are things that you feel ridiculous putting on - but the end result is nice. They actually have long socks that have the faux stirrup patterns (I hope to god that the A's didn't wear the fake stirrups).

I helped an old lady carry this ikea dresser thing into her house. I don't know how she managed to get it into her car but the thing in the box weighed easily 120lbs. It was this weird size where I couldn't get an arm around it securely.

Then I remembered how tiny 120lbs filipino porters lift more than their own weight - they prop it onto their backs and bend over 40º and use their legs/ass to power it. I managed to get the box up a flight of stairs pretty easily but cold feel it in my knees and ass afterwards. I also attribute a hot assed spicy thai meal for getting me through this miserable assed hot/humid day and that unexpected manual labor. happy.gif

I just received an e-mail advertising the "Grand Reopening" of a bank's ATM. For some reason, that just seems funny to me.
