Congratulations! A big milestone. For which state(s) are you taking the bar exam?

  • 88 credits
  • 160 hours of exams
  • 1250 hours commuting
  • 1600 hours of class
  • 3300 hours studying
  • 18,000 pages of reading
  • 104,000 miles

Done. Finis. (unless I flunk something).

Now all I need to do is pass the bar.

Thank you gentlemen. I really appreciate it, as it has been something of a trial. munch, yes, I do have a job ready to go -- had that settled before I went to law school, which is nice. I'm taking two state bars and the USPTO bar later also.

I really did enjoy law school, though. I went part time at night and didn't run into many of the common criticisms because I lucked at with a really good entering class; we've been pretty awesome throughout it all and are nearly at full employment, which is great!

You forgot to tell us how much debt you have to pay off.

It's flex, which will require me to come in at 8:30 instead of 9:00 for four days out of a ten day pay period. On two of those 8:30 days I'll have to stay 'til 6:00. It sucks, but having all of these 3 day weekends is going to be worth it in my opinion.

The first Friday off is this week!

Wait. Am I doing the math wrong here? You work half an hour extra for four days (two hours total) and an hour late for two days (I'm assuming you leave at five, thus netting two more hours total than usual), for a total of four hours. You have to work an extra four hours during the pay period to earn a day off!?

No, it's not any extra time within a pay period. I'm still working 75 hours each bi-weekly pay period, but because I am taking a full day (7.5 hrs.) off, I need to cram that time into the days on which I'm in the office. Usual hours are 9:00-5:30.

35 hours a week? That's some European-style bullshit right there.

I can't remember the last time I worked less than 50 hours a week.

A friend of mine's salary is based on 35 hours. He even gets straight time to work 40 hours and time and a half for time after that. He still only works 35 hours, which I think is mind boggling.

You should try it, its relaxing (especially after a few weeks with a lot of work).

edit: Actually it might not be relaxing because you will be jittery not knowing what to do with your extra time.
