Even better....it looks like there is a rebate type deal where they will mail you a $150 pasta attachment just for buying a mixer. Looks like my deal was valid although there is a chance it might not go through. I don't actually want the pasta maker, but if I can ebay it for at least $100 then I will have gotten a kitchenaid for less than a hundred bucks
Only problem is that this is a "Pro" model which is not the same as "Professional"...so basically it is the same internals as the most recently updated Artisan model (325W motor, all metal gears except the safety breakaway gear) and not a more powerful professional model. For the price, I don't mind (and there were never power issues with my mom's tilt-head model)...although I actually find the tilt head more convenient than the lift bowl and it takes up less space so I don't think I would ever buy this model at full price.
