Every store I've been to has had shitty parking, their produce sucks, their beer and wine are moderately priced but mostly meh, and there are just a few of their processed offerings that are worth the time - the mochi ice cream is definitely one of them! I stock up on cereal, eggs and milk when we go, they're good quality and reasonably priced.

When you get right down to it it's a nostalgia thing for Mrs. A, growing up in SoCal she got ridiculously excited when TJs built their first store in CT (while we lived there).
Crappy parking is pretty much a signature TJ feature.

Weird. Their produce is generally pretty terrible. For me, TJ's is definitely an optional second shopping trip to stock up on their private-label stuff. There's way too much stuff they simply don't carry, and way too many things they don't do very well (produce, e.g.) for it to be my primary grocery store.

I love Aldi. I used to shop there and at Lidl when I lived in Athens.

Well, Aldi is a discount supermarket. Their produce in general isn't great, but it differs (in France it's better than in Northern Germany).

I go to Trader Joes for nuts, chocolate, beer, punjab choley, olive oil, coconut milk, and other pantry goods. It's hard to beat for stuff like that. I never get the stuff that needs to be cooled because it takes too long to get home.

TJ's is owned by Aldi. I don't know the whole setup, but one of the Aldi divisions, or whatever it's called, owns TJ's, while the other one operates in the U.S. as Aldi.

Got business cards. These are considered almost as valuable as gold among my government colleagues. When budgets get cut, the little stuff like biz cards are the first things to go; they've been hard to come across since the Great Recession hit.

As a VIP, I got some. bigstar[1].gif

Oh, didn't know that. Well, no wonder why the Aldi brothers are that rich.

You're really taking this "work" thing seriously.
