The alternative is a trap and makes you sound as if you're embarrassed about it.

I go with

"thanks, they're not fast, but they get me from A to B"

Not hilarious but normally enough to make them chuckle and move on.

yeah, going back into the new job today. Part of this is the great atmosphere - people who talk freely and mill around but not enough to make you question their productivity. Part is the new work: pure finance / accounting rather than the jack-of-all-trades accounting / IT / general / maintenance deal that was going on. And part is the little things: the A/C works in my office, the coffee is good, the building we're in is an office not a warehouse. The computers run quickly (and on the cloud, too). I don't have to worry about a legacy server that's in an alcove in my office. And no one bitches to me about piddly crap, like why are we being billed for a second pickup from our garbage collection service when we all know that they picked up three times last week.

I did get a text from the old place asking about changing the time on the phone system which runs a bit fast - and I gave her the google phrase but neglected to tell her that the phone runs a bit fast and if she wants them to match the server all the time, she'll be changing the time every few weeks. I mean, after 14 years, if they haven't figured THAT out by now...

and I haven't gained a LOT of weight since January, so that's kind of nice. Though I should probably get my (slightly-fatter) ass back on the roads soon.

All sounds wonderful, Thomas. Hope you feel the same way or even better about it in a month or two. tounge.gif

So I'm watching Married With Children and realizing that as a kid, I never really appreciated how hot Peg Bundy was. Al was an idiot for not tearing that shit up every night.

what "shit" exactly would you have liked to have been tearing up? do you mean raep or fapping?

also, my parents forbade us from watching that show. i remember sneaking downstairs with my brothers, remote at the ready, watching it. i think it mate it even more enjoyable, added some extra adrenaline.

So good.
