not in this tropical weather. average high temperature year round is between 86-94 degrees and humidity's pretty high so even monsoon season here can get pretty sticky.

Still waiting on Northwestern, USC, and Cornell.

The 168 and my essays and letters of rec have pulled me up substantially but not enough to completely make up for my 3.1gpa I guess. If only I'd been getting laid more in my first year of undergrad and less in my last frown.gif

congratulations! and fuck berkeley and uva.

++++

sunday morning bike ride was great. rained hard before dawn which made the trail slippery at the beginning but became manageable by the 6th mile. all in all it was 25 miles of technical single tracks snaking up and down a protected reserve.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
and I fucking love how my bike shreds. worth every penny imo

The bike however is not imaginary.

On my flight back to St. Louis, I was seated next to a fat, smelly woman who acted like she was high. The flight attendant was observant enough to notice my predicament and reseat me.

I met a cute Catholic girl who thinks I'm a good Catholic boy. (lol)

I've heard reports from reliable sources familiar with the discussions that my probability of becoming the next Pope has increased "tremendously" in the last 48 hours.

I had a good weekend.

I am more awesome than I was before.

Y'all bitches are lucky just to know me..... losers.

Had a great weekend skiing on a hill in Wisconsin. Won't be able to get out west this year so luckily conditions were about as good as it can possibly get in the midwest.

Started brewing my own beer a couple months ago. I'm finally beginning to taste the fruits of my labor and it's pretty good considering I didn't really know what I was doing at the time. Hopefully they're only get better from here.

Observant flight attendants and gate agents are a godsend. It pays to be nice to them. A few weeks ago on a flight from the west coast as I was about to board the gate agent reassigned me to different seat. I didn't understand why at first, and the agent simply stated that I'd thank him later. When I saw the extra huge guy I would have been sitting next to, I sincerely was grateful to the agent. It would have been a miserable 4 hour flight sitting next to that guy.

Happy birthday Miss Stitch!

I have a business trip to Kona. We've never been to Hawaii, so we're both taking a few days off and turning it into a vacay. The downside is that given the amount of work I have on my plate for before, during and after the trip I can't really spare the time off.

Edit: now I can't decide whether this belongs in "things that are pissing me off" or here.

Seriously +1.

Best flight attendant experience I had was a couple weeks ago. I was in the first row and I missed my first boarding chance, leaving me with no overhead space for my carry-on in the first couple rows. I had to venture back at least 10 rows to find space. This scenario is probably one of the more annoying ones you have to deal with when flying cause you then have to wait for all the people behind you to clear out before you can even get to your bag and de-board -- a huge annoyance because people are slow, inefficient, and take their sweet-ass time.

Anyway, the attendant saw that I didn't have any overhead space nearby and would have to go back to find space. Lo and behold, he stopped the rest of the passengers from getting on so there wouldn't be a backlog of on-boarding passengers I'd have to maneuver through to get back to my seat. And not only that, but 10 minutes into boarding, he asks me if I'd like to move my carry-on to the bin on top of my row and I'm like lolwut? Apparently he cleared out space above, remembered which carry-on bag was mine, went and retrieved it, and stored it above me.

Win.
