Thanks.

I wish the fabric had a little higher pile (and it is cheap fleece so it will pill), but fabric can get expensive and $3.99 for a whole blanket's worth beats even thrift shop prices.

They may not look nice forever, but I can save better fabric for when I am better at sewing...and at least I will have one of these on this weekend when I am skiing if the temps drop smile.gif

slept for 8 hours last night... I believe this is the first time I slept that long this year.

and to those who know my saga with my staff who has a brain tumor... she was supposed to get her biopsy monday- today she showed up at work. apparently they did an mri before the operation and the tumor has shrunk considerably the oncologist decided right there that she doesn't need one anymore, and they'll just do another mri in april.... pretty hard to describe how relieved her voice was when she was explaining it to me. (maybe I should just fire her)

oh, and its almost summer in our parts... just booked 4 days with the kids and friends here (although it'll happen in may)

went to the boxing gym, did some light sparring, first time taking some punches. I did really well. Getting punched in the face takes some getting used to. My balance was off--boxing talk for those who care:

now, i naturally have awful posture but i've been working on it pretty hard this year and its ok now as opposed to embarrassing. Anyway, toward the end I was really leaning into my punches and leaving the side of my head really exposed. Also, my balance was off because my right thigh right above the knee was almost unusable toward the end. I'm right handed fwiw. Also couldn't throw all my punches but man, the guys I was fighting kept dropping his hands and i was like THROW A HOOK THROW A HOOK!

Panglao's great. I remember back in 2004 I went there as an escape after medical clerkship with the wife. When we pulled up to the fucking resort it turns out the whole island was taken over by an international orthopedic surgeons convention facepalm.gif

its also where I saw first hand that orthopedic surgeons on a whole are meatheads. the stereotype holds true! tongue.gif it doesn't matter what country, USA, india, europe, asia male/female/ghey the "bro" level on that island was off the charts.

watch out for the sea urchins:

the wife and I were bored and started to dare each other to touch it then eventually pick the motherfucker up.

I don't know if they still allow you to physically handle the tarsiers... but at one point my wife had 5 of them crawling around her.

I was thiiiiiisss close to stealing one.

there's some pretty creepy places there too. we went here near night time and even the locals we were with wanted to leave before it got dark

Lol what a coincidence! I'm in the waiting room waiting to see an orthopedist right now.

The dr is an older gentleman -- def not a meathead bro at all.

BOOM stereotype disproved!

He's actually very correct. It also takes getting used to punching people in the face in a planned manner vs. road rage or a bar fight. I am very out of practice on all fronts and plan to continue that way.

no doubt he is. i was referring to the oh so easy "i would think you are well used to it by know" snark. oh well.

i do not think i have ever punched anyone in the face.

You should try it! Everyone should punch and be punched at least once in their lives.

the older ones are the most bro-tastic of them all. he's just hiding in plain sight. start talking about cars with him odds are you'll "bro" it out and the consultation will end with fistbumps and manhugs.
