I just don't frequent Subway very often so I decided to see what all the fuss was about. Don't get me wrong. It wasn't mind-blowing but I was thoroughly satisfied.

Harris Teeter has the best subs. Subway makes you smell like frozen yeasty dough inside and out after every visit.

Who the fuck eats Subway? I could make a better sandwich at home in 30 seconds for a tenth of the price.

An exit rom seat with about 5' of legroom, a halfway tasty box lunch, Pandora streaming Marvin Gaye, Howard Jones, Ella Fitzgerald, Johnny Cash through my notice canceling 'phones, and a mild tranquilizer. I'm having a downright pleasant flying experience.

Eh...subway is in no way great, but it's not bad. A $5 footlong is usually more than I would want to eat for lunch and it costs a few bucks less than any other option. I haven't eaten subway in forever, but maybe I will today.

I could make a better sandwich for less, but unless I am making a lot of sandwiches, it is unlikely that I will have a very wide variety of fresh ingredients in my fridge and I will get stuck eating the exact same sandwich twice a day for a week to use up anything I do buy. Washing and slicing some peppers, onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers, making sure I have lettuce and spinach and loaves of appropriate bread...those all take time.

IMO nothing beats the subs you can get from a mom&pop hole in the wall. Some mighty fine subs come out of M&P pizza joints where they make their own rolls.
