I just received something in the mail. It's clothing, but I'm not going to tell you what it is. Suffice it to say that it is incredible. Spectacular. Better than I could have hoped. It's exactly what I didn't know I needed. And StyleForvm will hate it. Hate it, hate it, hate it. In many ways, it is the antithesis of SF. When I get around to posting it, jaws will drop, noses will spray soda, parents will shield their children's eyes. People will pity me for wearing such a thing. I may start wearing it every day.

Manton will not be amused.

The mystery item is vintage, but it's so vintage I could not tell you how old it is. It's agonizingly vintage. I've never seen anything quite like it. This was a gamble, and it paid off big time. Big time.

Hee. I could wet myself in my excitement.

That's all ... for now.

I was going to say Pith Helmet...maybe he's found a cloak made entirely of Lions.

Pith helmets are more Vox and Iammatt's shtick. The lion cloak, while awesome, is incorrect.

A cloak is a very good guess, given my proclivities. But I'll rule out cloaks in all their forms, and will also eliminate the possibility of the mystery item being an Inverness cape.

That said, no one will ever guess. The item itself is not particularly unusual, but certain qualities of the item are very much so.

Not I: I'm rather proud of what little hair I have left, and I lack a fez. That may change soon, however. Or not.

My guess was leather pants, but vintage? Maybe with a motorcycle.

so, one of my wife's friends, who I really don't like, and who is incredibly politcally correct and sactimoneous had a little "accident" yesterday. her husband is a proffesor and they send their kid to a school assosiated with the university. she was talking to a mother of one of the other girls in her daughters class, an african american, about vacations. the other family had just been to LA for a few weeks, and my wife's friend asked the other woman "so, how was it out there? was it crazy with OJ's funural and all?"

the other woman, who doesn't really know her that well but had been relativly friendly until then said "OJ? I think that you mean the other famous black man"

so, effectivly, this woman is a little screwed in terms of how the other mothers are going to see her at school. I find that very humerous.

This sounds awkward. From the way you've described your wife's friend I can understand the amusement, but objectively she just made a slip of the tounge and the other woman took it to DEFCON 1
