I'm making chicken a l'orange for dinner tonight. It's my less expensive version of duck a l'orange. It's still damn tasty. Also wine will be consumed.

On a related note, an ode to my cast iron pan.

Oh beloved cast iron pan
with you I cook everything I can.
Chicken, steak, bacon, cornbread
Virtually anything from a recipe I've read.
Well seasoned to promote non-stick
Teflon pans can go eat a dick.

Well, Mrs. T is doing the canning and soapmaking thing these days, so I used a little of her equipment (after washing it a few times), borrowed a page from one of her books, got the ingredients, and got it made.

Basically the process was this:

Cook the oils, wax, and cocoa butter
Warm up the aloe/water
blend the two together with a stick blender
add the EO blend
blend a bit more
bottle before it cools and gets gloopy.

that last step, I didn't quite manage. I made a mess pushing it down the too-small funnel I tried to use.

That said, for a splash-type recipe, there's no cooking (iirc).

Wifes procedure went well. She just messaged me that she is eating her 'snakes' - probably a bit high from the anasthetic. Should be a fun ride home.

Glad to hear it.

Maybe she's thinking about eating your snake? Ride home could be even more fun...

Ribs are now in the oven at 225, foiled, with finishing sauce applied. Now I have to get the energy up for a four mile treadmill workout.

Then the ribs will be ready for eating. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

But if today was payday for you (like it was for me) you will be drinking with 2% less money.
