It would take a cab 20-30 minutes to get to this venue to drive me two minutes. And like I said, 1:30 of that drive is on private, i.e. non-dedicated, roads. I will not be blotto tonight by any means but it's nice to know the distance is short and running into a check point is next to zero.

do it the Key West way and just ride a bike! after 10pm the whole island is full of drunk assed bike riders (often times worth millions) rolling their asses home on unwieldily beach cruisers.

That would be awesome! If I could not drive I'd toss Mrs. Piob the keys. Also, my bud the sommelier could just toss us in one of the property's golf carts and give me that two minute ride home. laugh.gif

And did I mention a two minute drive? 90% of that on private roads smile.gif

I'm walking the equivalent of three blocks. Reservations at 9 at a really nice joint, then drinks and dancing till 2013.

In many jurisdictions one can be DUI on a bicycle.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm going to watch a movie and hit the hay...I may be in bed before the new year actually begins; my shift starts at midnight so it isn't as though I can go all crazy.

I'm pretty damn content right now, and this is the perfect way to finish off the year.

Yeah, but the cop's gotta be a huge dick, especially since they should be paying attention to people who might actually be dangerous.

Also, if you are quick, I bet you could escape the cop. His car can't follow you everywhere a bike can go and you can outrun him easy. What's he gonna do? look up your plates?

I don't even like going out on a night like this where the cops will pull over anyone and everyone. Two glasses of wine and you're hit with a DUI. Not worth it.

I'm happy with the work I got done today. It was one of those days where I was very tired and very unmotivated, and I considered just writing it off. But I kept working all day, and eventually had a good breakthrough around 6pm, when I started getting lots of good work done.

After two and a half years on the road, I am being stationed back home in 2013 for my new role at work. I wrap up my last trip this week. I reckon I will have to buy groceries now.

I managed to avoid touching alcohol for 72 hours.
