there's that thing where all rock stars artists die at 28, and othes claim that its the hardest year to live in a young life, and I didn't believe it, but when I hit 28 (i'm turning 34 in march) I had a hellacious year (36hour medical duties, being married and away from the wife the whole time, wanting to give up on life).
happy birthday man, enjoy it and brace yourself for that upcoming 28.

I just turned 28, but I'm pretty excited for the upcoming year - getting married, hopefully buying a house, possibility of a good career move . . . feels like things are coming together.

30 was actually a tougher b-day for me than 40. Youth is once and for all officially R.I.P. at 30, most people are still in the phase of establishing themselves, income not where you want it yet, etc. 40 you already know you're old, are probably established, income probably increased, etc. So odds are good your life situation are better at 40 than 30 and you're not crossing some huge divide between "young" and "getting old" as you do at 30.

Screw that. I'm north of 40 and still don't feel old. In fact the Mrs. and I were both remarking that neither of us feel like grown-ups (despite the mountains of evidence to the contrary).

well, i will let you know when i hit 40, g-d willing, but i did not love turning 30.

My mail carrier made me happy today. I ordered a replacement pocket knife. I went out to get the mail & the package wasn't there. I went out to my truck about ten minutes later to go get some milk & I noticed that the flag on the mailbox was up. She was kind enough to come back & deliver my package. I was afraid that I was going to have to wait until Wednesday to get it. Bless her heart!

Considering that she is older than my Mom I think that I'm going to have to pass. I will probally give her a ten or twenty next time that I see her. After all I just wasted $50 last week.
