had a killer track workout this morning, in the rain, in an empty and unlit stadium.

Half-marathon in just over two weeks.

I now understand the joy of polishing one's own shoes. I've always paid to have it done. Tonight, I sat down with 3-4 pairs and it was the most relaxing hour I've had in several months.

Do it for a few years and you will have a very different feeling. Polishing shoes is probably one of my least favorite activities. It is tied with ironing.

Ironing, I likewise have pared back in terms of time spent. I used to let the shirts congregate for days (or weeks) while waiting for pressing, now I just bang it out while they're damp and it's done pretty quickly now.

Perhaps I will strike while the iron is hot and continue paying for it to be done (3 dollars a pair) and preserve the novelty for when I don't live in a city with a cheap alternative.

I enjoy ironing my shoes and ironing my shirts. I can do it while watching television and drinking. It is very relaxing.

The biggest reason I don't pay to have shoes polished is because I do it better myself and I do it in a way and with products that doesn't ruin the leather unlike 99% of shine stands.

I pretty much iron 3-4 shirts at a time, that is all I can stand in one go. I also only iron the fronts, collar and cuffs because I always have a jacket on. I have thought about making a video for the forum on how to efficiently iron shirts.

I was always a little disappointed that iroh didn't make an ironing video for us. I imagine it would have featured a microwave oven, cloth tape, and a kitchen table.
