A combination of Illy coffee and Patton Oswalt making fun of the worst song ever "The Christmas Shoes."

What kind of food?

Anyway, I'd say the quality of espresso has more to do with the machine and the user than the coffee unless the coffee is really poor. That said, Segafredo is pretty standard stuff. I think I tried their moka grind once and it sucked so I went back to buying the Carrefour brand (which is actually Caffe Vergnano repackaged, making it really good and really cheap).

Machines don't really matter that much unless it's really cheap with bad internals. The beans are most important followed by the water then the machine and grinder.

You both have it wrong. The bean > The water > The grind > The machine.

The grind is different than grinder though. I think that the difference between a cheap grinder and expensive one is not as great as a cheap machine and expensive one so I put it last.

I prefer Nespresso or Illy pods to anything that comes out of the Jura or Saeco machines nest.gif

Well, yes, in some cases. But there it is the roasting profile and such, but you cannot, I repeat, cannot produce good coffee of any kind, espresso, french press, pourover or anything without a good consistent grind.

I hand-grind my beans every morning. Makes excellent coffee.

Let me be the judge of your coffee.
