I'm happy that my immune system is looking out for me. For the last few days, I've been fighting just a tiny bit of a cold, and my body seems to have fended it off with very little discomfort.

Actually, I'm grateful for my immune system in general. Last year, with a baby in his first year of daycare, I was sick just about monthly (multiple times in some months). This year things have been dramatically better. I've still been sick a bit more than pre-parenthood, but, even counting this little bit of something, I've only been sick a few times all year.

I can look out of my office window and see Mt Evans and the beautiful Rocky Mountains.  Whenever I'm having a tough day I spend a few minutes just gazing.  It's does wonders for my mood and stress level!

I always think it would be really funny to come into work the day after a big lotto game with a mohawk, face and neck tattoos, unshaven and hungover reaking of alcohol and just say to your boss, "I was certain I was going to win last night."

I'm sitting here drinking my lager and enjoying my roast beef sandwich and some jerk face puts Mötley Crüe on the jukebox. It's apparent he put on several shit songs from his behavior. So I walk up and pay extra to skip his songs and play Morcheeba, Thievery Corporation and Portishead. Enjoy, dick.

Often when I'm working on something important, I'll give my brain a rest for a bit by wandering around the Internet. But typically I'm not really concentrating on what I'm doing. Just now I mechanically typed some letters and went to a website and thought "Oh cool, news about fragrances!" It was a very pleasant surprise. Of course I had gone to fragrantica.com, so I should have expected exactly that. But if I'd expected it, it would not have been such a happy surprise.

No, I've never read Brautigan. The real question is, has Brautigan read me? Based on the evidence provided, I'm inclined to think he has. The real tell would be if he uses "irregardless" in his writings.
