Homemade chocolate Madeleines. And coffee.

wtf? Who makes their own chocolate madeleines?

j/k. I don't remember you taking a lot of pride in your cooking until recently. Is that new?

I do sometimes and my wife does often, probably the easiest cakey type thing that is possible to make except for plain madeleines and pancakes. (actually it's easier than pancakes).

PS the hot Taiwanese lady from Le Transporteur made them (not chocolate though).

Great trip to the museum yesterday with Mr. Canuker and the girls, finding a good gluten free gingerbread recipe for making gingerbread houses, finding a recipe for sugarplums and finding the perfect gifts for Mr. Canukers Christmas. Oh and Little Miss Canuker is going to grandma's for a sleepover so extra time to work on the Christmas sewing projects

I attended a yoga workshop all weekend with a great group of people. The instructor was from Massachusetts, and really good. I did poses that I'd never thought I'd be able to do. Feels great, and definitely making me happy.

I am a great cook. Worked short order in college. I post a lot of the pics of food to Instagram instead of here. My presentation is always lacking but I assure you the taste is always spot on.

Recently I've made

A delicious chicken and cous cous dish



Chocolate filled pastries



Steak and pierogies (pierogies were not homemade)



Buttery and airy blueberry muffins



Best goddamn chicken soup ever



And cinnamon rolls that would send a normal man into diabetic shock



Again, I know my presentation blows, but I'm usually only cooking for myself or one other person. Plus I tend to drink a lot of wine while I cook.

I will be cooking thanksgiving dinner and many pies this week so I will try to post updates.

Presentation is overrated. I'm drooling.

You might want to press down the steak slightly so there's more contact with the cooking surface.

Fair criticism. In my defense I usually cook steak with a blowtorch, but was out of propane.

Next time I'm posting, ill be back home. Had a great extended vacation, and now I'm ready to go home, report back to work... Well at least for a month and then it's our 2 week end of the year break and ill be spending Christmas in hk.

So, I'm training for a January half-marathon and really want to post a good time - I mean, I want to post top-5 in my age group. It occurred to me last week that I absorbed a good training volume (including 2 track sessions) with no hiccups or aggravations. AND today I got back under the 170# barrier for the first time in years. If I can keep both trends going this should be a good year.
