Making me happy: I haven't had serious knee pain in months, despite the most stringent exercise regimen I've ever pushed myself on. First time in over 5 years beforehand I've been pain-free.

The leak was in the 3/4" pipe between the elbow and the coupler going to the flex hose. I ended up using the shark-bite once I cut off the coupler, and then I replaced the flex hose anyway once I realized that the gasket that sits inside the coupler to the flex hose was impossibly brittle and I couldn't easily remove it. But it's done now.

But irregardless, I'm the champ and they can never take that away from me. (Not that they would want to, of course.)

I recently got reimbursed for lots of expenses that had come out of my own pocket. Also, it's just happened that I've stumbled across some amazing deals lately that have been too good to pass up. Just got a bottle of Feminite du Bois--the original Shiseido, not the Lutens--for a great price. And a couple of Mona di Orio scents, including the scent she had just finished when she died: Rose Etoile de Hollande. That's a blind buy, but I'm confident about it.

Holy cow, that's a binge. Even one of the Monas is more than I'll spend all year.

I'm a fucking renaissance man. I can cook delicious food, fix cars, shoot deer, practice law, and I dress really well. I'm the fucking best.

Agree. On all counts.

Oh, I should be clear: these were miniatures. There's no way I'm in a position right now to pay full price for one of her bottles. But I did get the miniatures for excellent prices.

She's smart!

I had this conversation with my twin girls yesterday, they just turned two...they speak Japanese well but I am also teaching them English:

Me: Girls...say Apple
Twins: Apple.
Me: Great! Now say Banana.
Twins: Anana.
Me. No, it's Ba-na-na.
Twins: Anana.
Me: Hmmm... How about...Ba.
Twins: Ba.
Me: Good! Now, Ba Ba.
Twins: Ba Ba.
Me: Excellent. Ba Ba Ba.
Twins: Ba Ba Ba
Me: OK...now Ba-na-na
Twins: Anana.

Sigh.

I just learned that I've received a merit-based raise and that the increase will be retroactive to this summer. Raises have been extremely rare the last four years or so owing to the economy, so I was not expecting anything at all. I suspect that someone has been reading my posts on SF and noticed that I'd just gone on a fragrance shopping spree.

That, or they've been reading your posts on SF and noticed that you stopped being able to afford your meds.

This is good, particularly since it's retro back to the summer. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I frightened a guy who sold me something on ebay. He wrote me a note saying that he'd ship on Tuesday, since Monday's a holiday. I wrote him back saying "This is an outrage! I demand that you ship today." Then a line lower I told him I was kidding and thanked him for the reminder. He wrote me back saying I had scared the ... out of him. (Yes, he represented the swear word with an ellipsis.)
