Congrats conne and maximator!

I've been working on the normal person's home thing, too. In the past month I've bought a day bed with a couple of fancy ass mattresses from McCroskey's, a vintage dining room table, a vintage afghani hall carpet, and a massive cat condo for Cin-Cin the Cat. The latter just arrived and kitty is thrilled with it.

Still to come are dining room chairs and an Ikea wardrobe system.

Did you have planned out in advance what kind of look you were going for, or did you just go on a shopping spree and find things you liked?

Also, Cin-Cin is an adorable name for a kitty.

I had a lightbulb moment today and it will forever change the way I live my life starting today.

I'm excited.

Also exciting me are the animal style fries and new The Walking Dead episode that are currently in my possession.

Thanks a lot. :D Speaking of furniture. I went to a Luxury property show, and they also had a stall that sold luxury beds. Like $50'000 luxury beds. But damn if it wasn't comfy as hell...

That's exactly what Genevieve of cat would do too! I don't know how much money I've thrown away buying her toys that she has no interest in.

I had a great night of sleep last night, which is not all that common for me. I even had pleasant dreams, which is very unusual. I also woke up 90 degrees from the position I went to sleep in. (Went to sleep with head south and feet north, woke up with head east and feet west.)

You either swallowed magnets, or you converted to Islam in your sleep.

I can never get a good night of sleep in a N-S orientation.

We've got a list, but some of it has been more spur of the moment. We've been looking for a table for months, and finally found one, whereas the local rug shop had their annual sale, so off we went...

I can take no credit for Cin-Cin, it was my wife's inspiration. I'll let her know you like it. Kitty of course loves having her chin scratched, but she also loves to sit with her chin resting on the side of her bed watching us, and we celebrate her presence in our lives every day, so it really is a fantastic name.

I can't recommend McCroskey's mattresses highly enough. They're pricey (not quite that pricey, but still), but amazingly comfortable. They have showrooms in San Francisco and Palo Alto but will ship anywhere. Let's put it this way: we bought our day bed from a local mattress and bed chain, and when we told the saleswoman that we didn't need mattresses for it, we were buying them from McCroskey's, her eyebrows went up and she said, "Fancy. Your guests will never want to leave!"

I'm excited for that too!

It came shrink-wrapped rather than boxed, does Meguchan like to play with that stuff?

Meguchan has a nice basket which is designed for her to sleep in, but she prefers to nap in empty Amazon boxes. Said boxes however are much too small to accommodated her more than ample frame. I think she is in denial and believes that she is a cute little kitty, cute she may be, but little and kitty not so much. Another possibility is that she is protesting against the fact that her basket was designed and marketed to be used by dogs.

I have to say, Genevieve really does like sleeping in the kitty beds I buy her. Unfortunately, after a couple of days she always poops in them. It has gotten a bit costly buying her a new kitty bed every time she does that, so she's been without one for about a month now. Maybe I'll buy her another one.

Meguchan is also an adorable kitty name.
