isn't that somewhat of a good thing though? like in japan/korea/mortal kombat's asian fighter's countries if you hit a hole in one you have to give the rest of the foursome lavish gifts like rolexes to mark the occasion.

I heard that if you don't have the cash or ironically in Japan "Hole In One Insurance" then you have to offer your soul in a written contract to the Gods of Golf.

Then you will spend countless hours of frustration attempting to figure out what you did and to replicate that shot.

Oh I totally believe him, and yes this is one of the appeals of golf.

I'd buy my playing partners a can of Asahi Super Dry. The big half litre cans, I'm not cheap.

I lost my voice almost completely with about 10 minutes to go in my last class, but I soldiered on because I am a man of virtue.

Exactly. It bounced off the T-rex statue into the hole

I was actually being serious when I said that I think golfers are particularly honest. In some other sports I pride myself on being a good cheater, it's sometimes part of the game. When I played Rugby I would never stand onside if at all possible, hands in the ruck whatever you can get away with. In golf however, not following the rules is just unthinkable. Anyone I've played golf with, who isn't a rank beginner, wouldn't think twice about calling a penalty stroke on themselves even if no one else was around to see it.

Did you change your name because the original was a counterexample to my point?

Did your parents name you that? If so, that sure was an unusual thing for them to do!
