Had some blood work done yesterday and just got lab results. Everything is perfect. In fact, some of the ones that motivated me to drop the weight three years ago are now the low side of normal. Total cholesterol is just 184 and the HDL/LDL ratio is bueno when three years ago is was 270 and a bad HDL/LDL ratio. Liver enzymes...went from elevated NAFLD risk to ALT of 33 and AST of 27.

This calls for some foie gras and a drink!

A couple who've become MrsG and my closest friends in town are moving far away on Monday, which is not making me happy. However, what is making me happy is the epic cookout we have planned for their going away party tomorrow. It used to be that I was good for a number of cookouts every year, but that has slowed down considerably in the last few years. In fact, this will be my first one this year. So, on top of making sure we have a great sendoff for good friends, I get to knock the dust off of a bunch of recipes and cook a nice feast for about 15 people.

Thanks guys and good stuff for you two also.

Also, Mrs. Piob just texted to say she found "dino" ribs, extra meaty, for just $3.50 per pound. I shall be smoking some huge ass ribs Sunday. smile.gif

I guess I was driving around with bent rims on the right wheels of my car. Epic pothole on queens blvd will do that.

Had them repaired at a place in Brooklyn and remembered that someone I knew lived in the area and we hung out while they were being fixed and watched the Spain Russia olympic bball game on tv. Fortunately the fix was quick (took less than an hour to get two rims re-trued one was pretty bad actually) and way below estimate for price.
