Yes, particularly while also being productive. You've closed lots of good deals and you assembled your office furniture. You're a keeper, and it's good that your boss has recognized it.

Yeesh. I feel like I failed going to temple. I can get as far as "Baruch Adonai eloheynu... Ha'aretz?" Whatever. Shalom.

One of my customers gave me some crazy indian veggie stew. I thought it was sambar, but apparently I'm dumb and white and this is something he claims is ten times more nutritious and delicious. I dunno if its nutritious, but delicious hell to the yeah.

Also, my customers apparently scheduled my apparently-meant-to-be-a-surprise going away party to tomorrow (regular one to be held on schedule), as one of them fucked up and told me about it. So I get a call from a catering company today, apparently the party is tomorrow. Which is awesome, because party.

While we're on the subject(ish), random question concerning yiddish. I know my Latinized Yiddish orthography leaves more to be desired than a model with a barbie crotch, but:

Etymological relationship between Meshuggah and Mishigas?

meshugga - crazy, as in, "he is acting meshugga."

mishigas - craziness, as in, "stop all this mishigas."

Meshuggah - is a for a person.
Mishigas - is for things.

"Bobby is so meshuggah. He just won't give up all this mishigas with those gentiles. Especially the women!"

Edit - god damn super jew beat me to it!

^ A tangent, but: this made me recall an NPR story about a Japanese linguist who single-handedly put together a Japanese-Yiddish dictionary. Really interesting and then with a sad twist.

flood has subsided considerably out here.... still, a lot of folks in the metropolis and outskirts are in evacuation centers... but one good thing is a lot, I mean a lot, of people are actively helping out and collecting/buying stuff the flood victims need. even my high school alma mater has called off the rest of the week and turned the campus into a collection/drop-off point and a bunch of students, teachers and alumni are working round the clock collecting, arranging and delivering stuff to people in need. hooray for humanity!
