Well usually an inch and 1/2, but it would have given you .5 at the thigh which could have made a world of difference. I dont know enough about your measurements so I can't say with out a doubt that they would have worked, but chances are a bigger size would have fit much better. That, or the SG just doesn't suit your build. The weird guy has a looser thigh, a vanity sized waist and  tapers from the knee all the way down. You may have better luck with that.

For reference, I normally wear my jeans with a 29.5 inch waist actual measurements. The tagged 28 has a 29 so the waist isn't really a problem since it will stretch, but since the seat or top block on the SG is super fitted I size up to a size 29 and wear a belt. My man parts are happier and the fit is perfect. I have currently in my closet a pair of sized 28 sg that I almost never wear now because the 29's fit so much better, it's true that they will stretch but even after all that the top block is always going to be constricting if you don't size right.

Hope this helped and best of luck.

I see your point and appreciate your insight. I wasn't posting in order to ascertain what each model fit like, just simply offering my own experience of fit on one particular model... but, thinking about what you're saying, my advice could've been more helpful. Admittedly, I tried on a plaid pair, and only one pair at that, so I'm sure there would have been a slight  difference in fit with a different material and or waist size, but I never gave it a second chance. I do wear the weird guys, though, yeah, and they do fit my body type the best of N&F's fits. So many variables to consider, for sure...

Sorry, this was in response to the guy buying  SG's way too small and ripping the fly.

That's not supposed to happen is it?

Most people in this thread would suggest either going TT or up one with the SG. I say it's better that this happen now then a serious crotch blowout in the future. Are those the left hand twill?

Hey guys does the painter denim hold up quality wise? I'm iffy on the 5oz and want a summer jean but not something that will rip with ease. Any insight would be appreciated I have an eye on a pair on sale right now.

I emailed N&F and they said they would fix them for free which is pretty cool. I'm wearing them right now with just the top button on to avoid ripping them further and they are stretching out a bit. Maybe I can make them work still. Otherwise I'll just get them repaired and sell them on B&S board.

This is looking like the most likely solution. Does anyone have a size 30 they want to trade for these 29's?

Does anyone know how the nep selvedge fades?

I don't have a 30 but if the price is right I will take these off your hands, assuming they are not all stretched out and the crotch is fixed. biggrin.gif

PM me in any case

Sweet. I'll send you a PM when I get these back from N&F.
