The gimmicky stuff N&F does, like the glow in the dark and reverse fade denim, is fine and all, but I don't think I would ever buy any of it. I like their straight-up denim way better. The deep indigo is one of my favorite denims on the market. Not to say they shouldn't do that other stuff, but I'm just not interested. I do hope they keep it up with the collabs, though. The MomoNF and Big John NF both looked awesome when I saw them in person.

Yeah, apparently they have a bunch of collabs lined up (did I get that from the vid?). Can't wait to see the results.

Why not? Have you actually tried the 'gimmicky stuff'?

Though I wouldn't wear scratch n' sniff lolo

i don't think there's any situation where it's reasonable to ask someone to smell your pants let alone scratch

If he's being serious about the scratch and sniff, which I think he is...

...I don't think the concept is to ask people to scratch and sniff your jeans...

...but just the normal wear and tear from daily wear...will unleash the raspberry scent...

...so you end up smelling like raspberry as you go about your day...

I've looked at a bunch of it in Barneys. The reverse fades seem particularly weird to me, just because that resin coating feels like plastic, and I definitely don't want my jeans glowing in the dark (makes it tough to sneak up on people). Some of the other stuff has looked ok, like the silk and cashmere blends. But when I compare that stuff side-by-side with straight up raw cotton denim, I always like the plain cotton better. Actually, the way I bought my first pair of N&F was I went to Barneys during an end-of-season sale and went through all the denim they had. I picked up the deep indigo and walked around the store comparing it with other jeans (well, with other jeans in my price range, which undoubtedly eliminated a bunch), and the deep indigos were my favorite. I think in that bracket of $200 and less, those and 3sixteens are tough to beat.
