Hot soak the waistband. Best course of action.

Since that was the case I thought those were what the collab was based off of. Close enough when seen on pic, no? Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

For 10000 jpy, I might just grab a pair when I go to Japan this summer.
EDIT: OH SHIT just realized that Overseas version & Domestic version were different. I think this is THE denim used on the collab.
Here is the description (via google translation): "14,5 oz denim look attractive with a solid Japan JAPAN HERITAGE Heritage. Darker color by using the number 100, which is the initial ogle "KD-8" first of domestic denim, use a cotton tea to base further, that express the ogle, such as dead stock."
I guess the ones at the Atelier and Tenue De Nimes are more of Rare Line.

I took another look at the pair that I bought from Barney's, and that pair is indeed part of the Rare Line. The denim is definitely heavier than 14.5 oz. on that pair, I compared it to my 15 oz. Indigo/Indigo Slubs and it is noticeably thicker than those. I would estimate the weight of the denim on that Rare Line to be about 17-18 oz., comparing it to other denims I have in that weight range. It is also unsanforized, where the Big John collabs are sanforized.

I haven't really followed Big John at all, so I don't know whether the Rare Line is considered their main line or not.

I've seen those before, but I didn't know that Oni had anything to do with the denim on them.

The flasher says about 5%, so roughly an inch and a half to two inches. My experience with Oni denim is that it can stretch back a little if needed as well. My experience with these particular Oni collabs is that they run a little bit tighter to start with than most WGs.

Jeez why the heck didn't I grab that one from Barney's......... I thought the export one would be a cheaper one when it was actually the better model of Big John. They may not be the "rare" per se, meaning less of manufacturing process (unless your jeans have the stamp in the inner pocket and received the indigo dust bag) but the denim quality itself seems to be the high end kind.

Are there any fade pics of the pomegranate or green selvedge?

I really like non-blue jeans...

Before I return them, I wanted to double check with you guys to see if the thighs are too tight in these. I've worn them for maybe an hour or so, and haven't soaked them or anything.

And yes, I know, I really need to get a full length mirror.

Since this is my first pair of slim fitting jeans, I just wanted to check the fit with the more knowledgeable people here. My fear was the thighs because of how big my thighs are compared to the rest of my legs/waist.

I was really excited about these indigo/indigos whenever I bought them, so hopefully a few more people agree with you and can quell my fears so I can keep them smile.gif.

How are the fades on the tweed fill? Also has anybody heard anything about something similar to the duck's being released this season? One more question... does anybody have any experience with the selvege chino's? i have never seen them in person and dont know if i should snag some while i can find them in my size or wait on some ducks to be released. Appreciate it guys!

The flasher on them says "Big John Rare". Will have to check the inner pocket for a stamp. I don't remember getting any kind of dust bag with them, but I will double-check when I get home from work tonight.

<=== WAY too excited .. my wide guy Elephant #2s were delivered .. and here i am at work, may have to leave to go try them on .. hopefully they fit decent!

koax- That's a nice fit!  I wish I had bigger thighs so the weird guys would actually look more on the skinny side on me.

How much stretch has any of you guys achieved on their lighter weight denim? Looking at either of the broken twills, indigo or greencast. Love the fit on 28's from thigh down but would need the hips and waist to stretch about an inch or possibly two.

so i totally left work early ...

dont mind the tshirt, thats what happens when you throw off dress clothes and grab the nearest shirt (read pajamas LOL) ...

Wierd Guy Elephant #2 ... size 34 ... they button up at the waist with a small amount of effort ... but as tough as the denim is i cant see a size smaller gettin the top 2 maybe 3 in... im still somewhat heavy on the bottom and my thighs are large, my calves are very large but all muscle .. they are actually filling out the jeans from knee down to an almost tight status

what do you guys think about the fit on me? personally i LOVE it .. i just dropped 95lbs in the last 6 months and these make me feel even skinnier .. i obviously have weight up top to lose etc, but these were a great "youre doin a good job" gift .. i think i have found my denim company! finally some real jeans!

let me know what you think, i wish i had worn a smaller shirt .. and dont laugh at my wifes dressing room decor LOL
