My understanding is on the Collabs, they use the NF Cut, with the other brands demin, hardware etc. The other brand, in this case Oni, manufactures the jean. Someone plz correct me if I am wrong.
I have the NFXBJ as well as the NFXFHXTY collab and it seems this way for these pairs.

I believe the main problem with all of this is how small my waist is (~30, or a 31 where WGs sit) compared to how large my thighs are (~22"). Since it seems like none of the current N&F cuts will fit me properly, does anyone have any recommendations that are under $200?
edit: Also, I enjoy having a taper (hence liking the WG).

maybe APC NC? i also had NF WG as my first pair and then got the NCs. Had the same problem with having to get a larger size to fit thighs and so the waist ended up being too big. but the NCs are perfect for me. I'm pretty similiar in measurements to you. Had 28 in WG LHT then got a pair of 29 in apc nc's and pretty much been wearing only the nc since then

Oni already has a 200$ ish denim. They actually upcharge for the Collab. So was the Big John Collab. The gunjo denim is around 200$

After checking the measurements of the NCs the thighs are almost an inch smaller across than the WGs. I'll have to keep searching frown.gif.

Yes, the Oni collab uses the same denim that Oni uses in their main line. The price of the N&F collab is actually a little bit higher than what Oni's main line jeans retail for in Japan. The main line jeans retail for 21,000 yen, which at current exchange rates, comes out to $270.60. Very similar, but slightly less.

This is correct.

The Momotaro collab uses a different denim from Momo's main line, but the Oni collab uses Oni's main line denim.

I own a few pairs of Onis, and I can tell you that the denim looks and feels identical to the main line jeans that I own. The selvage id looks identical as well.

What this man said. As for Big John the "gunjo dye" is their main dye, and their jeans were sold at Barneys for $250 IIRC.

I'm not really familiar with Big John's dyes, but I do own the N&F Big John collab as well as the raw selvage Big Johns that Barneys had this past season, and I will say that the denim is definitely different on the two jeans. Not sure which one is considered the main line denim, but the non-collab Big Johns had heavier and slubbier denim than the N&F collabs.

oni develops various denim for other companies as well. one denim shop used their denim on their jeans without it being "oni" type denim. interesting.

I did get them from context, but why would their measurements be wrong?

Is the upper thigh of the Slim Guy really narrower than the Weird Guy?

http://tateandyoko.com/1-jeans/67-naked-famous-slim-guy-black-selvedge.html

versus

http://tateandyoko.com/1-jeans/51-naked-famous-weird-guy-black-selvedge.html

Upper thigh is 10.5 in the Slim Guy (which I own and is snug) and 11.25 in the Weird Guy.  Does this jibe with people's experiences?

I'd say so, yes.  My sz 33 slim guys fit a little slimmer in the thighs than any of my sz 33 weird guys.
